Shauna - Senior

I've got to know Shauna over the past couple months...very easy going and beautiful young lady. And a wonderful family as well!

We did her senior shoot on a very cloudy and super cold day...but, she was quite the rock star and fought off the chill!! Her mom Pam was awesome as well, and did some great videoing! As we were heading back to my studio, we went past the mall and the Freeman Med Flight was in the parking lot! They had just finished delivering Santa for all the kids to see! How cool was that? They were gracious enough to let us use their helicopter as a prop. No door handles were touched in the making of these images! Promise!

Thanks Freeman for letting us use your helicopter!!!!!

Here's a few from her senior session, along with the video of the shoot by the helicopter, and a little video of all her images!

Shank Wedding

Scott and Carolina had their wedding ceremony this past fall, and it was a beautiful wedding! I was excited to be their photographer!

Andrew - Senior

Andrew came in for his senior pictures a few weeks ago, and we got to use his Dad's Corvette, which was pretty cool as well as Andrew's own car!

I worked with his mom several years, so, was excited to get the call to do Andrew's senior pictures!

Here's a few of my fav and a video! You know...that second pictures, reminds me of the Beatles...cool.

It's been a week?

Whoa!! How time flies!!!

Just a reminder...December 5th is the last day for prints to be ordered to be guaranteed before Christmas. Of course I'll take them after, and try my best, but the labs are busy this time of year with holiday orders, and of course I'm at their mercy!

Lastly...Gift certificates!! This is a great gift to give a friend or family member for Christmas! New parents, grandparents, senior, family... a perfect gift!

Take care,
Joshua

What is Life Captured?

Here's the responses that I received in order:

"Life Captured to me means me being a daughter, a student, and a very strong christian. The main part to my my meaning of my life being captured is me devoting my life to god! My life is captured!"

"Life Captured to me means capturing something special to hold on to forever!!"

"Life captured means so much to me. Joshua Carter photographed me during a year that has changed my life. He captured my senior year in a way that I can always remember. This year is a time to grow but also a time for remembrance. Life Captured has taken this year and put it in a time capsule for me to look back on for the rest of my life. That is what Life Captured means to me, taking someones life and capturing it so you can look back on that time and remember."

"A Friend."

"Life captured is like when we were taking Trey's senior pictures at your family's farm and we're focused on Trey and then we turn around and my 5 year old is planted in tall wildflowers just mesmerized looking at them. I was thinking I need a picture of that and before I could say anything you saw it too and captured a picture of life with Anna!"

"Life Captured is amazing. You can dance and just have fun, and you end up getting gorgeous pics! I love it... and Joshua's pretty cool I guess. Lol jk he's awesome!"

"Life Captured can portray the essence of each individual person’s personality. If your are heart and mind are “Captured” you log in just to see the newest creations of someone’s Life Captured."

"Life Captured . . . . . life is short, life is unpredictable. Life Captured, to me, means life as it is on that day at that moment in time. If it's family, it is those you hold in your arms during that shoot. You never know what life will throw at you, for life itself is not guaranteed. Take the opportunity to capture life's moments that are special to you and yours."

Thank you for all who responded to that request, it was truly amazing and wonderful to read what Life Captured means to you.

I believe there is meaning behind what I do, greater then myself. I like to "think" it's "my vision", but what I capture is the beauty that God has created. With a click of the shutter, for just that moment, if I can give them that in a photograph to hold on to, and remember, then I will walk away with a smile.

Family shoot

I did a family shoot last weekend on Saturday morning..at 7:00! It was cold cold! Not just cold, but cold cold! They had a couple young children, and bless their little hearts they did such a GREAT job!

I had acquired a true antique Santa sleigh, put it out in a prairie field to use for this shoot.

Here's one of my favorites from that morning. A little more abstract, but, love the family all huddled up to stay warm...gives it that Christmas feel.

Mack

I had the pleasure to shoot Mack a few weeks ago and get to know him a little bit that afternoon. He is the quarterback for Webb City Cardinals...so, I went into this shoot with an idea or two for a couple artistic shots, which I think turned out pretty cool. The one below with him holding the ball up high is one of them.

Ok...so, as you may have seen, I've been using my little video camera quite a bit during the shoots, and it's been a lot of fun, and source of entertainment. As we were doing this particular shoot, I thought it'd be cool to run a couple pass plays!! I think I surprised him with my speed!

Mack...thanks for being a sport, and I'll be calling you soon with your proof images!

Alli - Texas!

Alli gets the award for coming the furthest for her senior pictures. She came all the way from Texas for her senior pictures. Ok, well, maybe to visit some friends of the family...but, chose to do her senior pictures here with me! I'm honored! We had a wonderful evening, and her friend Lindsey was CRACKING me up...I couldn't get a serious face from Alli if I wanted! This video I'm showing was tame compared to the others with these two!! Thanks for keeping me on my toes and making me laugh!

Heartfelt Loss

I had a very close friend of mine lose her Mom this past week to a degenerative disease. Megan had contacted me about a year ago to do a shoot with her Mom and Dad...out doing what they loved...riding his Harley. Megan...my prayers are with you and your family at this time of loss.

JHS Football Homecoming

About a month ago I worked Jasper's High School Football Homecoming dance. It brought back old memories as that's where I went to school! A special shout out to Mr. Tom Jones who asked me to shoot the dance, and making me feel welcomed again. I took one of my former senior models (Shae) to help me with equipment, keeping track of files and orders. Thank you Shae!!

Here's a couple group shots from the dance! The main group is the Jasper Student Council! Good luck this year!!!

Taylor - The Remix!

I finished up the remaining images for Taylor, and thought I'd share a couple more.

I shot a friend of hers this weekend, Brooke, who also made the 45 minute trek from Nevada! A special thank you to both of you for having confidence in my work...I hope the trip was worth while!

Trey - Senior

I had the pleasure of hanging out with Trey and his family one afternoon for his senior shoot. We hit some cool locations, got a quick shot of Trey and his beautiful sisters, along with some great senior shots for him.

Trey can flat out slam dunk a ball! When I was his age, I could only slam dunk a ball AFTER my senior basketball season was over, and it was with a girls ball. Did I just say that out loud??

We hopped onto a local court where some other kids were playing at another hoop. I think they were in AWE when Trey dunked it!! And you must listen to the commentary by Baylee...she was cracking me up the whole time! Here's a few from his senior session!

Nashville!

I just got back a couple days ago from a four day INTENSE photography workshop! All I can say is WOW! I had a great time hanging out with about 130 photographers from all over the United States, many the best in the industry! I had a one day workshop on fashion and modeling, then the remaining days were on posing, business, new marketing ideas, and finding out what's HOT right now, weddings, and a couple guest speakers that demonstrated some new photoshop plugins that are pretty cool (Lollipop)! The days were long but fun. The workshops went from 9-9 each day, and then of course after that I spent time networking, and sharing ideas with other photographers until the late hours of the night! It was a blast, but I'm glad to be back home and ready to get down to business!

Lucas - Motorcross

I was really excited about doing this shoot when I found out that Lucas enjoyed motocross! We found a jump that was OK, but didn't get him the air he really likes...but, still got some awesome shots. I took a few with my fisheye lens, and about had to lay underneath him when he jumped over...it wasn't THAT close, but it was close enough!!! We had a great time...and I really enjoyed this!

I'll be calling you soon to pick up your proofs!
