Update on Nicole

Yesterday Nicole went in for her blood work, and the results came back today. Her thyroid levels are where they need to be for her to take the radiation treatment. She goes on Dec. 26th, at 9:00AM. This is when we were hoping she could take the treatment since she's off on school break!

Thank you for your continued prayers.

All the best,
Josh

Ava...AKA: Ms. Bows!

Ava is one of the cutest babies you will ever see! She is my first official baby in which her parents have utilized the baby plan! So, I get to see this little jewel every few months, and it's been exciting to watch her grow! I'm already looking forward to her one year shoot! I see some cake in her future! Can't wait to see what she does with that!!!

Need a Christmas Gift Idea??

How about a Gift Certificate from Life Captured Photography!? What a timeless gift this would be to any family or friend!!

One hour session's are $35, two hours $50 (can be either indoor or outdoor).

Miller Family

What a fun time I had on this shoot! Meet Cade, Drake and Eli! The Miller boys are quite the handsome young men...I feel sorry for all the girls out there!! It was a little cold out, and windy, but they all took it in stride, and finished up the shoot in the WARM studio!! Here's a few of my favorite pics from this shoot, along with a video! Enjoy!

Update on my Angel

Well, we went to see the oncologist yesterday to find out about the treatment, and about when that will be. Here in a few weeks she'll be going in to have her blood drawn and a scan, and if her TSH (?) levels are high enough, they schedule her appt. shortly after that in which she'll take an iodine/radiation pill (or two or three depending), and then will be little Ms. Chernobyl for a few days! Doc says I gotta keep my distance! :-(

She's been doing good, and gone back to work. Hopefully the treatment and the thyroid medication will all go well!

Thank you all for your prayers!

Recent happenings

Hey all!

I just wanted to drop a line and let you know that my wonderful wife was diagnosed this past Wednesday with Papillary Thyroid Cancer. The good news is that it's very treatable, and per the doctor, we have nothing to worry about. She's already undergone two surgeries to have the nodules and thyroid removed, and here in 4-6 weeks, she'll take a radiation/iodine pill that should kill the remaining cancer cells. My son also went in for surgery last Monday to have a tube put in his ear, and that was a quick and successful surgery. So, while all of this has been weighing on us, we have been very blessed with the outcome of Luke's surgery and knowing that Nicole's cancer is treatable! Please keep Nicole in your prayers.

Take care,
Joshua

Life Captured - Your Life My Vision

So, I've finally taken the plunge into turning one of my favorite hobbies into a business...Life Captured Photography! Only because no one would pay me to duck hunt!!

My passion and knowledge has grown over the years. It all started with borrowing my Dad's Pentax K1000 to use for a 4-H class I was taking back in the day. An all manual camera and it was great! I took a yearbook class a couple years in high school as well as an independent study class. In there I took a photograph that won a Gold Key award at an art show in Kansas City...that really got me fired up!

From there, I finally got a Nikon FM2N...a camera I'd fallen in love with. Another all manual film camera that I love...and still do. I used it for many years, just playing around, and a few years ago finally bought my dream camera, a Nikon F5, the bad boy of bad boys when it comes to film cameras! Once I got it...I thought, "how am I going to pay for this??" So, I started charging for my work and I was doing pretty good, but was limited with all the new technology and what other photographers can offer by use of digital equipment and computer software for their work. So, with great sorrow sold the F5 and bought a new Nikon digital camera...and so far, it's just been AWESOME!

I'm working on my website that should be completed in a few weeks...the website will be:

www.lifecaptured.us

I'm looking for a mother-to-be to do a maternity shoot with as I'd like to include that in my ever growing portfolio! A fine deal will be struck up for this lucky mother!! Where are you?? :-)

Check back soon for some updates on a few recent shoots I've done!

I think that's about all for now...I leave you with a picture of my son...bless his heart, he had to put up with posing for Daddy in the studio so I could practice...but, we got some great shots we'll both cherish!!

Take care,

Joshua
